The event produced two outstanding champions, with Delia Kuprinskiene continuing a remarkable run of form and Andrew Hopwood claiming the men’s crown.

Kuprinskiene completes a championship double

Delia Kuprinskiene arrived at the Grand Slam having already won the 2026 UK Open Championship at Bradmoor Farm.

She carried that momentum into Leicester, producing another championship-winning performance to secure the women’s Grand Slam title. Her victory completed an impressive double and strengthened her position as one of the leading players in deaf darts.

Kuprinskiene took home the women’s championship prize of £400.

Hopwood claims the men’s championship

In the men’s competition, Andrew Hopwood defeated Ryan Mitchell to become the 2026 Grand Slam champion.

Hopwood’s victory earned him the championship crown and a £900 first prize following an excellent performance in a highly competitive field.

Together, the leading prizes helped make the 2026 Grand Slam one of the largest-paying events in Deaf Darts Organisation history—an important milestone in the continued growth of the sport.

A landmark event in Leicester

With 170 people attending the Cue Club, the Grand Slam brought players, supporters and members of the deaf community together for a packed day of darts.

The strong attendance reflected the growing reach of DDO events and created a lively atmosphere throughout the venue. From the opening matches to the championship finals, the event showcased high-quality competition alongside the community spirit that sits at the heart of deaf darts.
