FROM VISION TO VICTORY.
In a world where sport should be for everyone, five passionate Deaf dart players came together with one vision — to create a platform where Deaf players could compete, connect, and be recognised. That dream became the Deaf Darts Organisation (DDO).
The Deaf Darts Organisation (DDO) was established in 2024 by a group of five Deaf dart enthusiasts with a shared goal: to build an inclusive and competitive platform where Deaf and hard-of-hearing players could fully participate and be recognised in the sport they love. Frustrated by the lack of accessible opportunities in mainstream competitions, they set out to create a space that champions equality, community, and talent.
Since then, DDO has grown into a thriving movement, proudly hosting nationwide events like the Grand Slam of Darts and the UK Open Championship, while introducing a national ranking system to track and celebrate performance. More than just tournaments, DDO is about connection, empowerment, and inspiring the next generation of players. Together, we are raising the standard for Deaf sports — one throw at a time.
“At DDO our mission is simple: make the oche a place where deaf talent thrives and the world takes notice.”
Redefining the Game: The Rise of Deaf Darts.
Deaf Darts Organisation (DDO) is changing the game — literally. Launched in 2024, we are the first dedicated body focused on creating a fully inclusive and accessible darts community for deaf and hard-of-hearing players. What began as a single Grand Slam event has quickly grown into a movement, drawing international attention and hundreds of players from across the UK and Europe. We’ve integrated groundbreaking technologies like real-time visual scoring and British Sign Language-interpreted livestreams — innovations never before seen in deaf sport. Our mission is simple but powerful: to break down barriers, empower the deaf community through darts, and prove that accessibility and excellence can — and should — go hand in hand. This isn’t just darts. This is the new era of deaf sport.
